Day of Action will take place on Saturday, July 25th from 8am - 12pm
Day of Action is a community wide day of volunteer service that brings together individuals, students, and our business community to make a meaningful impact across the Greenbrier Valley.
In partnership with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, this event connects volunteers with local nonprofits and community organizations that need extra hands to complete important projects in just one day.
Day of Action is part of a long standing United Way Worldwide tradition that mobilizes community members to give back through hands on service projects that support local agencies and strengthen our community.
How It Works
Volunteer teams will be matched with local service projects throughout the region. Projects may include things like:
-
Landscaping and outdoor clean-up
-
Painting and minor repairs
-
Reading to elderly
-
Organizing donations or supplies
-
Preparing community spaces
Teams will range from 5–25 volunteers, depending on the needs of each project.
Why It Matters
Many nonprofits operate with limited staff and resources. Day of Action provides an extra workforce to help complete projects that might otherwise take months to accomplish.
By coming together for one day of service, volunteers help strengthen local organizations and ensure they can continue focusing on their mission of serving our community.

Whether you are volunteering with a group or signing up on your own, Day of Action is a great opportunity to give back, connect with neighbors, and make a tangible difference in our community.
